DigiTimes recently released an article stating something we pretty much assumed. More Android phones are going to start hitting the shevles with ICS (Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich) right out of the box. It seems only logical that this would happen after a matter of time, so no big surprise.
However, they also mentioned that market speculation indicates that Android 5.0, or Jellybean, could be released in the third quarter of this year. With a small percentage of phones currently running ICS and development just barely starting to pick up, it seems a little soon to be rolling out a new version of the OS. If it doesn’t hamper development for Android at a whole it may, at the very least, kill development being done for ICS. Again, at this time, it’s only speculation.
